Since the first edition in 2020, CG artist pwnisher (Clinton Jones) has organized the 3D community animation challenges twice a year on his YouTube channel and Discord community. To date, eight events have been successfully held, attracting thousands of CG artists to participate each year, making it one of the most popular and highly anticipated 3D animation competitions in the international CG industry.
Each edition of this Internet's biggest CG challenge features a different theme, with pwnisher providing a set template for participants to follow. CG artists are free to unleash their creativity within the template and follow some rules. Each contest has more participants and attention than the previous one, as the organizers select the top five entries to receive generous prizes. Additionally, the top 100 CG animation entries with unique styles, imaginative concepts, and high-level skills will be selected and compiled into a looping montage for release.

8th Edition: Eternal Ascent 3D Render Challenge
In February 2024, pwnisher launched the eighth challenge for 3D artists, asking them to create based on the theme "Eternal Ascent," using the provided template—a character walking up stairs. Within a month, they received 2,800 submissions from 104 countries/regions.

7th Edition: Boss Fight 3D Render Challenge
In August of 2023, 2,880 individual artists submitted to the Boss Fight 3D Render Challenge. Many artists drew inspiration from video games or films, bringing us a visual feast.

6th Edition: Endless Engines 3D Render Challenge
The first-ever 3D vehicle challenge of pwnisher. The artist can replace a basic demo scene with any vehicle/environment they can imagine. According to the organizer, 4,280 artists submitted their renders to this challenge in March 2023.

5th Edition: Moving Meditations 3D Render Challenge
In August 2022, the participating artists created works based on the Tai Chi moves templates, which were recorded with tai chi master Lu Junchang known for his work on Shang Chi, and Man of Tai Chi (to name a few), using a Rokoko motion capture suit and smart gloves. Pwnisher received 3,600 submissions, and only 2.7% made it to the Top 100.

4th Edition: Infinite Journeys 3D Render Challenge
In February 2022, pwnisher provided artists with a simple animation of a moving "vehicle" and they built out their own custom scenes. Of the 2,448 entries, the top 100 were chosen.

3rd Edition: Dynamic Machines 3D Render Challenge
In July 2021, pwnisher challenged 3D artists to guide a chrome ball from point A to point B in the most creative way possible. Nearly 2,000 artists entered.
