The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is adapted from J. R. R. Tolkien's novel The Lord of the Rings and its appendices, and was released in September 2022, with the second season to be released in 2024. The series is set in the history of Middle-earth, thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It is produced by Amazon Studios in association with New Line Cinema and in consultation with the Tolkien Estate.
