"Henshin" - A CGI Anime Fantasy Featured on FGT ART Gallery

We're thrilled to announce that Kay John Yim's stunning CGI animation, Henshin, has been selected for inclusion in the Fox Renderfarm's FGT ART Gallery. This captivating piece showcases John's exceptional talent and mastery of procedural animation techniques.

Inspired by the vibrant and whimsical dance scenes found in anime, Henshin is a visual feast that transcends boundaries. John's skillful use of Houdini, iClone, Marvelous Designer, and Redshift has brought this enchanting fantasy world to life.

In this project, John embarked on a metaphorical transformation, moving from the familiar confines of Cinema 4D to Houdini's dynamic and procedural realm. The result is a mesmerizing animation that captures the essence of anime's energy and playfulness. Apart from that, he also wrote a full breakdown of his magnificent work that talks about his early stage production, post-production, and afterthoughts.

According to John, Fox Renderfarm has played an important role in his rendering process, as he mentioned: "The final animation was rendered on Fox Renderfarm by using their cloud rendering service. I had assembled a fairly complex scene incorporating numerous custom HDAs, and the render farm generously accommodated by installing all my custom HDAs to maintain consistency between their renders and my local setup."
