Render Guide

Pre-submission Remarks:

1.     The desktop client requires the local machine to have the same software and plugin version corresponding to the submitted task installed for analysis purpose.

2.     Ensure no file is having the same name as material files locally.

3.     Ensure 3ds Max file material path exists locally. (If no material is used, can be ignored)

Desktop Client Setup:

A.     General Setting


1.     Click the “Setting” icon on the upper right corner of the client image.png.

2.     Click “General Setting” - “Enable scene parameter modification”. (When the task is submitted, the parameter modification panel will show up for modification)


3.     Click “General Setting” - “Show project selection dialog when dragging task”. (When the task is dragged in, a dialog box will be prompted for the user to choose the project for the task)

B.    Project Setting (New Project)


1.     Click the “Setting” icon on the upper right corner of the client image.png.


2.     Click “General Setting” – “Create project”.


3.     Enter project name, then click “Create”.

C.    Plugin Configuration


1.     Click “General Setting” – “3ds Max” – “Add software config”.


2.     Set the output path, then choose the project which the user wishes to work on.


3.     Select the exact 3ds Max and plugin version, then press “+” to add the plugin to right column, click “Save”.

Task Submission:

Step 1: Drag your scene file (file format as .max) to the desktop client interface

Step 2: Select the corresponding project plugin configuration

Step 3: 3ds Max file analysis


1.     This analysis process will open the local 3ds Max software to obtain file parameters information, therefore the local machine will need to have the corresponding 3ds Max software and plugin with the exact version installed. image.png

2.     The file analysis time is approximately 15 seconds (depending on the speed of 3ds Max file and hardware configuration of the local machine).

Step 4: Modify or confirm file parameter information


1.     Click “Check” on the analysis task, a dialogue box will pop up warning or error.


2.     If the warning or error will affect the rendering outcome, please close the dialogue box and delete the affected analyzed task, modify the file and re-submit again. Else, if the warning or error can be ignored, click “Continue to submit” to continue to the next step.

3.     The “Render parameter setting” dialogue box will pop up. All parameters will refer to the original file parameters by default. The “Common Setting” parameters modification rule is the same as the 3ds Max rendering setting.

4.     On “Vray Setting” tab, the parameters modification rule is the same as the V-Ray local parameter settings. (This setting tab can be modified if 3ds Max file V-Ray has GI turned on)

5.     After the parameters are confirm, press “Submit”. At this time, the task is submitted successfully and the client automatically switched to “My Uploads” panel for task upload.


6.     After the task is completely uploaded, rendering will start automatically.


Step 5: Download (2 methods to choose)


1.     Click the “Setting” icon on the upper right corner of the client , then click “General Setting” – “Auto download after render is done”. Once the rendering process is done, the client will automatically download the rendering output.

2.     Right-click on the rendering task or completed task, then click “Start download”.

1.     Right-click on the rendering task or completed task, then click “Open location”.
